Awareness Program about illegal adoption:

On January 03, 2020, the Social Welfare and Nutrition Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu organized an awareness program on the Adoption Regulations of 2017 in Tirupattur. The event was inaugurated by the District Collector of Tirupattur, Thiru. M.P. Sivan Arul IAS. More than 200 village health nurses and ASHA workers from Tirupattur district participated in the program. The Director of SRDPS, the specialized adoption agency, provided awareness on the Adoption Regulations of 2017 and the repercussions of illegal adoption. The participants were given a PowerPoint presentation, case studies, success stories and information on the Juvenile Justice Act.

Awareness on Road safety in schools:

Road accidents are on the rise in the integrated Vellore district. By providing road safety awareness to the public, we can help reduce the number of accidents and save lives. Vellore district is currently topping the list for road accidents, and reaching this fact to students and their family members will help spread awareness of road safety. The subcollector Tmt Priyanka Pankajam, IAS advised to conduct a road safety awareness programme for the students of all 84 schools in Alangayam, Kanrhill and Jolarpet. The training programme was conducted on 10.07.2018. Thamizhthal vaazhthu, followed by lighting of Kuthuvilakku, the programme commenced. Accordingly, four students from each school in Tirupattur education district, and 15 groups were formed and awareness programme was conducted.
