Wishes and Blessings set up its first Home for street children in Pasumai Nagar, Tirupattur, in August 2016. To celebrate Independence Day, we decided to have a big celebration at the Society for Rural Development Promotion Services. The children started preparing dance and song performances and they were very excited.
This was the first time we were hosting such a big event at the centre. It was a very symbolic occasion because we are working towards helping these children break free from begging, rag picking and misery. The Organisation was decorated in tri-colours and the children looked so cute all dressed up. We had a great time talking to them and we could see a transformation in their outlook, attitude and approach towards life.
